Sea Scout Ship 468 is a youth-led, high-adventure Sea Scouts program of Scouting America for young people ages 14–20. Based at Lakewood Yacht Club, we sail, race, serve, and explore Galveston Bay and beyond.

A message from our scouts:
Sea Scouts learn by doing. Our Scouts do more than ride on boats. They take the helm, work as a crew, make decisions, solve problems, and accept meaningful responsibility for the success and safety of their shipmates.
Learn keelboat sailing, racing, cruising, navigation, weather, docking, anchoring, vessel operations, and on-the-water safety. Our adventures also include canoeing, kayaking, camping, and other waterfront activities.
Ship 468 is youth-led. Scouts help choose and plan activities, lead meetings, teach developing crew members, and make real decisions. Adult leaders provide training, guidance, and appropriate safety guardrails.
Sea Scouts develop confidence, character, teamwork, communication, and practical leadership through community service, maritime stewardship, and shared adventures.
Sea Scouts is a coeducational program of Scouting America for young people ages 14 through 20.
Previous sailing experience is not required. New members learn progressively, practice alongside experienced crew members, and take on greater responsibility as their skills and confidence grow.
The most important qualifications are curiosity, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work as part of a team.
